HISTORY OF THE AMERICAN HOTEL OCTOBER GHOST TOURS ONLY HAUNTINGS AT THE AMERICAN HOTEL Over the years, there have been many reports of unusual occurrences, haunted activity and simply put some things that can not be logically explained. Reports of disembodied voices, shadows seen out of the corner of the eye are just a few things that have occurred. Last year alone, our first season of tours at the hotel, guest reports included being touched or shoved, disembodied voices, feelings of someone watching them and a few guests even felt ill. Black Raven Paranormal has conducted several investigations at the hotel over the past few years. It is their belief that the hotel is haunted by several slaves who kept quarters in the attic of the hotel at one time as well as civil war soldiers who were once patients at the hospital during the war. There are indications that even a few children haunt the hotel perhaps from another time era. GHOST TOUR OF THE AMERICAN HOTEL Now you will enter and tour this historic landmark of Staunton, through the lobby into the main ward and up onto the balcony and finally a trip down to the basement which was once used as a morgue. You will hear stories of past individuals and experiences that are very much embedded into the fabric of this former Civil War hospital. From the basement your tour will conclude as we share some evidence and data that has been captured at the hotel through previous investigations and tours. And finally you will participate in a live audio session in which we attempt to communicate with those individuals who have departed the world of the living. Tour begins/meets at the front entrance of the American Hotel located at 125 South Augusta Street in Staunton. Please arrive 15-20 minutes before your tour begins.
